IEM Basketball PlayerThe IEM Basketball League was established in 2002. It provides organized basketball for players from Newmarket, Aurora, and the surrounding areas from ages five through to adults. The objective of the IEM Basketball League is to provide an opportunity for any person to participate in, or learn about, the game of basketball, as well as, to promote, develop and encourage children to enjoy the game of basketball.

The IEM Basketball League provides an alternative "winter sport" to hockey, and provides a sport program available for both girls and boys of all ages. In addition to the league, we have basketball camps during the March break and summer to improve anyone's game.

The IEM Basketball League is governed by an all-volunteer, 4 member Board of Directors. In addition, 200+ volunteers participate in the various tasks of the league, either as coaches, assistant coaches, convenors, referees, statisticians, scorers, or in other required tasks. Many of these individuals are also involved in other capacities. In addition, many of the coaches are NCCP Certified and have coached competitive basketball for several years.
